Boly, along with his Ukrainian colleague Mykola Kalashnik and Oleg Kiper, governor of the Odesa region, visited the border checkpoints and a section of the M-15 Odesa–Reni highway near Palanka.
“The priority is to increase border capacity, reduce wait times, and make transportation more efficient. We also discussed road and rail transit of grain through the Republic of Moldova to Ukrainian ports on the Danube. We need faster transport flows adapted to the capabilities of our infrastructure. In a region where infrastructure continues to come under attack, every functioning stretch of road, every railroad line, and every border crossing point is important,” Bolya commented.
The visit took place against the backdrop of increased traffic at the Ukrainian-Polish border and a rise in the number of applications for freight vehicles to cross the border. As a reminder, this morning the “єЧерга” system registered 7,342 trucks, of which 6,450 were heading toward Poland. However, Ukrainian authorities urge people not to interpret these figures as an actual queue: this refers to preliminary electronic registration, not the number of trucks currently at the border crossing points.
