The document provides for the inclusion of the Triumphal Arch and the adjacent land parcel in the list of state-owned real estate. Once the resolution is approved, they will be entered into the Real Estate Registry, which is a mandatory step before restoration work can begin.
In May, the Ministry of Culture conducted an inventory of the monument and requested that the Public Property Agency initiate the property demarcation procedure. A month later, the agency formed a special commission to carry out this procedure.
According to the explanatory note accompanying the draft, registering the Triumphal Arch in the Real Estate Registry will cost 1,000 lei. These funds have already been allocated in the ministry’s budget.
The Triumphal Arch is part of the “Holy Gates and Square” historical complex, which is listed in the State Register of Monuments of the Republic of Moldova under state protection.
The Triumphal Arch was built in 1841 based on a design by architect Luka Zaushkevich.
