The draft decision includes a regulation according to which the compensation amount is 100% of the excise tax rate for 2026 – 3978.95 lei per ton (about 3.36 lei per liter). Only fuel purchased during the specified period is subject to compensation. The maximum amount of support for one beneficiary is limited to 200,000 lei. The Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA) will handle the distribution of the funds.

“The measure is temporary and is exclusively for farmers affected during this period. We aim to reduce the pressure of rising costs, reach as many farmers as possible and ensure the continuity of their activities,” said Agriculture and Food Minister Ludmila Catlabuga.
