The main message this summer is to return home so that we can build a European and prosperous future for Moldova together. The organizers are confident that the planned cultural, sporting, and discussion events will help strengthen the bond between the homeland and its citizens abroad.
The central event of the anniversary weeks will be the Diaspora Forum, which will take place on August 7. It will serve as a prestigious platform for discussing common priorities and seeking concrete solutions that will enable our compatriots to contribute to the country’s socioeconomic development.
In addition, as part of the “Open House Day” initiative, 22 government agencies will open their doors to visitors. This is an opportunity to learn more about their work and the services they offer, as well as to speak directly with officials at 31 thematic seminars, which will be held both in person and online.
The program for the three weeks of celebrations is packed with events dedicated to culture, sports, and civic engagement. The marathon of events will begin on August 3 at the National Library with a book exhibition and meetings with writers from the diaspora. The very next day, August 4, the “Youth Talk: Youth Changes the World” youth platform will take place, dedicated to the innovative ideas and projects of the new generation.
Also on the agenda are hiking trips to picturesque corners of Moldova to promote local tourism and natural heritage, the traditional “Diaspora Cup” soccer tournament (August 15), and this year’s brand-new addition—the interactive game “City Quest,” which will allow participants to discover Chisinau and its main attractions in an engaging way.
A detailed program and registration information can be found on the official website of the Bureau for Diaspora Relations.
