Macron called Lukashenko. What did they talk about?

French President Emmanuel Macron took the initiative and unexpectedly called President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. For the first time in four years.

As reports Latvian portal bb.lv with reference to the short information of the Belarusian news agency BELTA, the conversation took place at the initiative of the French side.

The leaders discussed “regional problems” in general and Belarus’s relations with the European Union and France, in particular.

The Elysee Palace has not yet commented on Minsk’s message.

The last time Lukashenko and Macron talked four years ago – February 26, 2022. Then the conversation lasted a little over an hour. The main topic of the conversation was the possibility of organizing talks between Moscow and Kiev in Minsk.

The media note one more detail. Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that after the strike on Kiev contacted Macron and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre. He also said that he intended to hold talks with other Western partners.
