For the period from 2021 to 2025, the volume of output of this product in the country increased 2.3 times, exceeded 752 thousand tons. In total, in 2025, the production of oil and fat products in Kazakhstan reached a historical maximum and exceeded 1.57 million tons. At the same time, a record was recorded for export revenues. Revenues from the supply of products to foreign markets amounted to $963 mln.

Today products of Kazakhstani producers are supplied to more than 20 countries of the world. Among the largest buyers: China, Central Asian countries, European Union, Afghanistan and Iran. In the Chinese market, the republic took the second place among the suppliers of these products. In addition, Kazakhstan is the undisputed leader in the supply of vegetable oils in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, providing more than 90% of imports of these countries. Also, the republic fully covers the needs of Central Asia in sunflower meal and is among the three largest suppliers of sunflower meal to the European Union.

To further develop export potential, the National Association of Oilseeds Processors has developed a Roadmap for Export Development for 2026-2028. According to the plans of the industry, the implementation of the roadmap will allow to increase export revenue by 60% by 2028 – up to $1.5 billion. This result will ensure Kazakhstan’s place among the world’s four largest exporters of sunflower oil,” – reports inbusiness.kz with reference to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
