The Ministry of Education and Research noted that investment in educational infrastructure, classroom and laboratory equipment, and the development of safe and comfortable school transport will continue in the new academic year.
‘In addition to infrastructure, we continue to pay particular attention to the quality of education and the skills that children need today and in the future. We want every pupil, regardless of whether they are studying in a village, a district centre or the capital, to have equal opportunities for learning, development and realising their potential. School is not just a place where we learn formulas, rules and historical dates. Here, we learn to ask questions, work together, express our thoughts freely and respect one another. It is here that the civic spirit and values that unite our society are formed,” the ministry’s statement reads.
The new academic year begins with a ‘Decade of Universal Values’, dedicated to human dignity, peace and human rights. Among the first events is a lesson entitled ‘The Independence That Unites Us’, marking the 35th anniversary of the proclamation of the independence of the Republic of Moldova.
The ministry also thanked teachers for their professionalism, patience and dedication, and wished pupils curiosity, self-confidence, new discoveries and success in the new academic year.
