Carp: “Only a small fraction of the army’s capabilities was on display at the parade”

The military equipment and armaments displayed in the country’s central square on Independence Day represent “only a small part” of the National Army’s capabilities. This was stated by Lilian Karp, MP and chair of the parliamentary committee on national security, defence and public order.

“This is only a small part of what our National Army has at its disposal. And the National Army’s defence capabilities will continue to grow,” Carp stated on Jurnal TV.

Carp also noted that the military parade was not only a display of military equipment, but also a testament to the strengthening of state institutions. He explained that his son, who serves in the National Army on a contract basis, was among the parade participants.

“This is an example of what each of us must understand: the state and every citizen must be ready to defend their country against any existing threat.”

At the same time, the MP stated that Moldova is a peaceful country and does not seek conflict:

“We are a peaceful people. We want peace and we want to be left in peace. This is precisely the message we must convey to both the propagandists and Moscow: let them finally leave us in peace, because we know best how to conduct ourselves, and we are capable of deciding for ourselves how to develop our country and what our foreign policy course will be.”

It should be noted that the military parade in Chișinău was attended by nearly 2,000 military personnel and law enforcement officers, veterans, as well as military contingents from partner countries. A hundred pieces of military and specialised equipment were also on display.
