
During the visit, the main focus was on strengthening the technical infrastructure of this sector to implement European requirements regarding the hygiene of food products of animal origin, as well as on opportunities to establish an effective mechanism for modernizing processing facilities.
The European expert presented Croatia’s experience in assessing, classifying, and monitoring enterprises in the production of animal-derived products, particularly in the area of official controls.
The mission included visits to two Moldovan meat and dairy processing plants to conduct a preliminary assessment of their compliance with European Union requirements.
