Debris from the aircraft was found in the town on Sunday following an explosion. According to law enforcement officials, no one was injured, but the debris was scattered over a wide area and caused damage to several homes.

President Maia Sandu condemned the incident.

“Our airspace has been violated several times in recent years. Russia’s war against Ukraine directly affects us. Russia is the one waging this war of aggression and bears responsibility for the danger posed to our people’s homes,” the head of state said.

Maia Sandu emphasized that the authorities must prioritize the safety of citizens and strengthen capabilities for monitoring and defending the airspace.
