“We do not accept uncontrolled immigration into Europe and are pursuing a strict immigration policy. For too long, it has been ordinary people who have paid too high a price due to uncontrolled immigration. It is our duty to continue working to respond to our citizens—especially the most vulnerable—and to ensure greater safety and protection for our communities,” Euronews quotes the prime ministers of Italy and Denmark as saying.
“More Deportations and Return Centers”
In their view, “the number of deportations must now increase” for foreign nationals who have committed serious crimes. In addition, it is necessary to “establish return centers to third countries, as well as seek other innovative solutions outside Europe.”
At the same time, “compliance with our laws must go hand in hand with respect for European values. This applies not only to undocumented migrants but also to the millions of foreign nationals who live legally in our countries and throughout Europe.”
