AIPA: Applications for subsidies to agricultural producer groups are open. To whom and how much?

The Agriculture Intervention and Payment Agency (AIPA) has issued a call for applications for subsidies for agricultural products sold by producer groups. The campaign will run from May 18 to June 15, 2026, inclusive. According to the regulations, subsidy payments to producer groups must be made within 60 days of receipt of a properly completed application.

AIPA draws the attention of potential beneficiaries to the fact that due to the amendment (no. 312/2013 of 01.01.26) of the law on agricultural producer groups, their financial support from the state will be carried out in accordance with the amended legislation.

Applicants should also note that the application for financial support must be accompanied by an annual (if necessary, semi-annual) report “on the implementation of the recognition plan of the producer group”. This report, in turn, must be submitted no later than May 15 of the year following the reporting year (and covering the period from January 1 to December 31).

As noted in the AIPA announcement, “this measure (financial support, LP note) is aimed at stimulating the realization of domestic products through sales as a result of consolidation of producer groups“.

Who and what is entitled to count on?

It should be noted that subsidies vary depending on the specialization of the groups (crop production – less, livestock production – higher percentage), on the markets (domestic market – less, foreign market – higher percentage) and the period of the group’s activity (in the first year – maximum, fifth year – minimum percentage).

That is, for example, a group of farmers of livestock specialization, who carried out commercial activity for the first year and sold their products abroad, can hope for the maximum subsidy (additional payment to the price of products).

The maximum possible subsidy for one group of farmers is 1.5 million lei. At the same time, subsidies are granted to groups whose sales volume exceeds 1 million lei.
