In January, the figure was 3.2%, in February – 1.7%, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

The agency noted that the calculations of the index of agricultural production from the beginning of the year through May are based only on data on livestock production, while crop production indicators are taken into account from June.

The positive signal is that the industrial (corporate) sector of livestock increased production by 9.2% in the period. This means that business felt the improvement of market prospects and, possibly, the reduction of risks. However, household farms decreased livestock production by 15.7%, and this is an alarming signal – of social nature.

The greatest reduction in agricultural production compared to the previous year was recorded in Donetsk (-42.1%) and Zakarpattya (-36.3%) regions. Indicators increased most of all in the following oblasts: Lvivska (+14.9%), Dnipropetrovska (+10.1%) and Kyivska (+9.5%).
