This is approximately 18% less than a year earlier: in 2024, the debt exceeded 200 million lei.

The largest amount of debt has accumulated in the transportation and warehousing sector—more than 126 million lei. Next are the manufacturing sector—about 14 million lei—agriculture, forestry, and fisheries—6.4 million lei—and construction—about 6 million lei.

In total, wage arrears were identified at 509 employers. Among the workers affected by this problem were about 4,000 women, 93 people with disabilities, and 9 minors.

According to Nikolai Vutkarev, director of the State Labor Inspectorate, his agency conducted 3,453 inspections last year, a 33% increase from the previous year. These inspections covered enterprises employing 186,261 people and identified 21,550 violations of labor laws.

Employers confirmed that they had rectified the identified violations in 2,529 cases, compared to 1,989 such confirmations the previous year.
