"Ukraine Day in Moldova – Culture Brings Us Together"
The event was held as part of the “Access to Culture” National Program. The festival program included concerts by folk ensembles, a folk artisans’ fair, workshops on traditional crafts, exhibitions of decorative and applied arts, interactive areas for children, and tastings of Ukrainian and Moldovan cuisine.
The festival was attended by Paun Rogovei, Ukraine’s ambassador to Moldova; Dmitry Lekartsev, chairman of the National Congress of Ukrainians in Moldova; and representatives of government agencies, the diplomatic corps, international organizations, and civil society groups.
The festival was organized by the National Congress of Ukrainians in Moldova in collaboration with the National Center for Traditional Culture, with support from the Ministry of Culture.
The “Access to Culture” Program Will Fund 77 Projects
According to the Ministry of Culture, the festival was one of the projects implemented as part of the national “Access to Culture” program, which aims to expand the country’s residents’ access to cultural events regardless of their region of residence.
In 2026, 320 applications were submitted to participate in the program, of which 77 projects passed the preliminary selection process to receive state funding. The program’s total budget is 19 million lei.
