
Educational institutions will receive digital laboratory systems for conducting experiments in physics, chemistry, and biology, robotics kits, digital microscopes, multimeters, electronic circuits, and 3D printers. The equipment is intended for use in hands-on classes and interdisciplinary projects.
According to the Ministry of Education and Research, the new kits will enable students to conduct laboratory research, design and program robots, work with digital sensors, and create prototypes using 3D printing technology.
Valentina Olaru, State Secretary of the Ministry, noted that the project aims to develop students’ practical skills. “Thanks to this equipment, we aim to ensure that students learn natural sciences and technology not only from textbooks but also through hands-on experience. They will be able to take measurements, analyze data, design and program robots, and turn digital projects into real-world objects. Such equipment fosters the development of critical thinking, creativity, and the skills needed for the professions of the future,” said Valentina Olaru.
The project will cover 200 schools
The 108 schools that received the equipment are among the 200 educational institutions participating in the “Improving the Quality of Education” (EQIP) project. They were selected by the Ministry of Education and Research in 2024 following an open competition.
Priority in the selection process was given to schools with a large number of students from socially vulnerable groups, children with special educational needs, students from refugee families, as well as institutions that had not received similar equipment in the past five years.
Previously, the schools participating in the project had already received computers, interactive whiteboards, laboratory equipment, furniture, and teaching materials. The new shipment is intended to expand opportunities for teaching STEM subjects and improve the level of practical training for students.
The development of STEM education is viewed as part of the effort to train personnel for high-tech sectors of the economy.
