“First of all, I must apologize to the TV8 team and especially to Stella Mihailovici for yesterday’s report and, as a result, for today’s press conference,” the lawmaker said. He explained that he decided to speak out before the article was published because any subsequent explanations “would be perceived by the public merely as an attempt to justify myself.”
Trubka said that in September 2024, he learned of an opportunity to purchase three building lots in Trushen with a total area of 0.8 hectares. He proposed a partnership to his friend: the MP would provide the idea, and his friend would provide the funding. To this end, Trubca registered the company Q&A Consulting, becoming its sole founder.
“These plots were designated for development. According to the General Urban Development Plan for the commune of Trushen, approved back in 2015, the construction of a residential complex up to nine stories tall was permitted there. I approached a friend I’ve known since 2018 with this proposal. We’ve been friends for many years, our families socialize, and we’re very close friends. He comes from a family that owns a large business in the Republic of Moldova—a business that has absolutely no connection to the state or the state budget,” the deputy explained. His firm owns a quarter of the rights to the plots.
At the same time, it was decided to reduce the maximum number of stories for the future buildings from 9 to 6—the local council approved this project unanimously. Later, on March 4, 2025, the company entered into a superficies agreement (right to develop) with the developer Estate Invest Company SRL.
The lawmaker emphasized that he himself had no direct contact with either local authorities or the builders, and that all of the company’s affairs and contracts with the developer were handled exclusively by a hired manager.
The lawmaker also rejected any allegations of a conflict of interest: “A lawmaker is not permitted to manage commercial companies, and I, of course, did not do so. From day one, the company has been managed by a salaried director.”
In conclusion, Trubca emphasized that this is a purely private business venture and that no public funds were used in the project.
The day before, journalist Mariana Rață wrote on her Facebook page: “I invite you to watch, very soon, an investigation by the program ‘Cutia Neagră cu Mariana Rață’ about MP Alex Trubca’s real estate investments worth millions over the past few years.” The announced report has not yet been published.
