The Ukrainian publication Liga.net reports this, citing an estimate by Deputy Minister of Economy Taras Vysotsky.
According to the ministry’s estimates, Ukraine is exporting about 4 million metric tons of grain per month instead of 6 million metric tons. At current global wheat prices, this means a loss of about $900 million in foreign exchange revenue each month.
At the same time, the publication’s sources—including business and government representatives—suggest that in July and August, Russia may intensify its attacks on the ports of Greater Odesa, which could further complicate logistics and increase losses for exporters.
According to data from the Ministry of Recovery cited by the publication, Ukrainian seaports handled 40 million metric tons of cargo from January through June 2026, of which more than 20 million metric tons were grains.
