According to Euronews, the meeting will be attended by Emmanuel Macron, Friedrich Merz and Keir Starmer. The talks will take place against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict. Paris says Russia “unsuccessfully continues its deadly war” despite military, economic and political difficulties.
The leaders also plan to discuss how to promote the idea of a “just and lasting peace” for Ukraine and Europe and take stock of decisions already taken.
Separately, France confirmed that a new meeting of the so-called “Coalition of the Resolute” will be held in Paris on July 13-14. It includes about 25 countries that are discussing the possible deployment of multinational forces in Ukraine after a future peace agreement with Russia.
We would like to point out that the meeting in London comes after Zelensky offered Putin to hold face-to-face talks and declared his readiness for a full cease-fire.
Emmanuel Macron called this initiative “good”, it was also supported in the EU and Germany.
