The adoption of the regulatory act is conditioned by the implementation of the amendments to the Labor Code, which prohibit any form of violence and harassment in the workplace, during business trips, trainings, professional events and official online communication. The new Regulation is intended to ensure the application of these provisions in practice in public authorities.
Each public authority will have to develop an internal policy in this field. For the first time, a single mechanism of temporary protection measures applicable in situations of imminent risk has been regulated. The Regulation also provides for clear responsibilities for the heads of public authorities.
“For the first time, we are introducing clear uniform procedures and real guarantees to protect public sector employees from any form of violence and harassment. We want everyone to work in institutions in an atmosphere of safety, respect and to be protected from abuse,” said Labor and Social Protection Minister Natalia Plougarou.
