The height of the structure will reach 55 meters. That is, the monument will surpass not only the famous Christ the Savior in Rio de Janeiro (38.5 meters), but also the statue of Christ the King in Swiebodzin, Poland. The initiators of the project in Konotopi were Polish businessman Roman Karkosik and his wife. According to local authorities, the construction came as a surprise to the villagers, but the majority of residents positively perceived the appearance of a new religious symbol. This is reported by Ziare.com.

Inside the crown of the statue they plan to equip an observation deck with a panoramic view of the surrounding forests and lakes. The villagers also hope that the appearance of such an object will help attract tourists to the region and revitalize the life of the small village.

The dedication of the monument is scheduled for August 15.
