According to Reuters, the Luce is a five-seat, four-door car costing 550,000 euros. Ferrari worked on the design of the model together with the LoveFrom team, founded by former Apple chief designer Sir Jonathan Ive.

The head of Ferrari Benedetto Vigna called the project the result of five years of development and emphasized that the car was created in cooperation with major technology partners.

Luce received four electric motors – one for each wheel. Their combined power exceeds 1,000 horsepower. The maximum speed of the car is more than 310 km/h, and the range is more than 500 kilometers.

The model is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 122 kWh on 800-volt architecture. At the same time, the weight of the car exceeds 2.2 tons. Ferrari said that in the process of Luce development the company registered more than 60 new patents.

According to the brand’s management, the Luce should attract a new audience. Ferrari marketing director Enrico Galliera said that most buyers of the electric car are expected to purchase a Ferrari-branded car for the first time.

The company also expects to strengthen its position in markets where electric cars already dominate, including China. There, cars with large gasoline engines are subject to high taxes, making electric cars more attractive to buyers.
