Black Sea wheat price up 2.5% since the start of the war in the Middle East

The attacks on Iran increased the wholesale price of flour-grade wheat from the Black Sea region by about $6/t.

“Since the first bombings in the Middle East on February 28, 2026, flour wheat prices from the Black Sea region have reached the highest level since August 2025. Thus, the latest price offers of goods from sellers are around $237/t FOB (POC) for Ukrainian wheat with protein content of 11.5% and $242-245/t FOB (Novorossiysk) for Russian wheat with protein content of 12.5%,” the company’s specialists clarified.

According to the Moldovan grain market operators, the demand price for food wheat in the country for two decades of March increased by 0.05-0.15 lei/kg depending on the region, batch size and quality of goods, but has not yet reached the level of 4 lei/kg on average.
