As Logos Press previously reported, Moldova’s Central Election Commission announced that the election period in Gagauzia would begin on August 28. In a statement published by the CEC regarding the admission of political parties, it is noted that, according to information received from the Public Services Agency, 37 of the 66 political parties currently registered in Moldova have been admitted to the elections. The remaining parties did not submit the required information as stipulated in Article 11, paragraph (5) of the Law on Political Parties.
It should be noted that the “Inima Moldovei” (“Heart of Moldova”) party, led by former Gagauzia Bashkan Irina Vlah, is not listed among the participants in the electoral process in Gagauzia. Although the court has already lifted the sanctions against this political organization, they remain in effect as of the start of the electoral process.
The full list of political parties admitted to the elections in Gagauzia is available on the website of the Central Election Commission of Moldova.
