The meeting will be attended by President Maia Sandu, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, members of the current and first parliaments, members of the government, representatives of government agencies, the diplomatic corps, the academic community, and civil society.
As part of the session, a Book of Honor will be unveiled, in which participants will be able to leave their messages and reflections on preserving and strengthening Moldova’s independence. The book will later be displayed in Parliament, where the general public will be able to leave their entries. A special invitation is extended to those who have personal memories of this historic event—the children and grandchildren of the signatories of the Declaration of Independence, as well as participants in the Great National Assembly.
An exhibition titled “Memories of Independence” will also open. It will feature archival photographs and documents, books and works by members of the first parliament, as well as items and equipment used in parliamentary activities.
The organizers note that the session will provide an opportunity to assess Moldova’s 35-year journey since the declaration of independence.
