Strive sees the start of a new Bitcoin cycle
Strive CEO Matt Cole cited the performance of the leading cryptocurrency relative to gold as one of the signs that the bear market is coming to an end. According to his observations, the BTC/GOLD pair has already outperformed the digital asset’s movement against the dollar twice.
In December 2024, Bitcoin peaked against the precious metal, although in dollar terms it continued to hit new highs until October 2025. At the bottom of the market, the situation repeated itself in reverse: the low against gold occurred in February 2026, while the low against the dollar did not occur until July.
“BTC/USD showed strength, while BTC/GOLD was already signaling a weakening of the bull market,” Cole wrote.
Now, the leading cryptocurrency has simultaneously broken above its levels against both the dollar and gold. Against this backdrop, the head of Strive expressed high confidence that the bear market is coming to an end and that the outlook for the next 12–18 months is improving.
He did not rule out a significant correction but expects strong demand in the event of a decline.
According to his forecast, the new cycle will receive additional support from the long-term weakening of the dollar and AI. The expert believes that the falling cost of AI and technology will amplify the scarcity premium—capital will flow toward assets with limited supply, such as Bitcoin and gold.
“Bitcoin will claim an ever-larger share of the growing pool of capital,” Cole noted.
He called this combination of factors unprecedented for the first cryptocurrency.
