During inspections, road characteristics will be taken into account, as well as the number of serious traffic accidents relative to traffic volume. Based on the data collected, the most dangerous sections will be identified as priorities for safety improvement efforts.
The project also calls for the creation of an online platform through which drivers and other road users can report dangerous situations and road conditions.
The new rules are scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2028. Before then, authorities must train specialists and develop a methodology for conducting inspections.
According to the draft, no additional funds from the state budget will be required to implement these changes. The authorities expect that the new system will allow investments to be directed primarily toward the most dangerous sections of road and reduce the number of traffic accidents.
