The forum will take place on October 8–9 for the third time. The theme of this year’s event is “Strengthening Democratic Resilience and Security Through Strategic Vision and Multilateral Cooperation.” Discussions will focus on the security of Moldova and Europe, defense cooperation, hybrid threats, energy security, strategic communications, and the protection of democratic institutions.
The program includes discussions on Moldova’s experience in strengthening democratic resilience, cooperation with international partners, the future of European security and EU enlargement, as well as strengthening the defense capabilities of the eastern flank. A separate session will be devoted to increasing defense spending in the face of new security challenges.
The organizers note that the forum will take place against the backdrop of Russia’s war against Ukraine, intensifying geopolitical competition, cyberattacks, disinformation, foreign interference, and energy risks. In their view, resilience today must encompass not only defense capabilities but also the ability of state institutions and society to withstand external pressure and maintain trust in democratic processes.
Last year, the Moldova Security Forum brought together more than 450 participants from 32 countries. The first forum, held in 2024, was attended by more than 500 participants from 28 countries.
The event is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and the Institute for European Policy and Reforms, in partnership with regional and international security organizations.
