Android Authority reported this news. The company is now implementing a new procedure for users. To install an app from an unverified developer, users will have to follow several steps.
First, they will need to confirm their intention to download the file, then restart their device. After that, access to the app will not be granted immediately: they will need to wait another 24 hours. This measure is intended to reduce the risk of malicious and fraudulent software infiltrating devices.
According to the publication, the new requirements will affect not only the initial installation but also the process of updating apps that have already been downloaded, if they were released by unverified developers.
