The water level in the Dniester fell to a critical level

March ended with a catastrophically low water level in the Dniester reservoir for this period of the year - only 115.28 meters. This was reported by Ilya Trombitsky, director of the Eco-TIRAS organization, on his Facebook page.

For comparison, the expert cited statistics of the river level at the end of March in previous years: 2024 – 116.65 meters, 2024 – 119.44 meters, 2023 – 120.78 meters, 2022 – 118.81 meters.

“Let’s hope for spring precipitation, because there is nothing else to hope for,” the expert summarized.

Earlier, Ilya Trombitsky noted for Logos Press that even a low-water Dniester is not a threat to the provision of water for domestic and industrial needs and irrigation. But it is bad for the river’s ecosystem, an obstacle to its natural purification and the vitality of flora and fauna.
