For the first time in the Republic of Moldova, road vehicles will undergo inspection and certification prior to being placed on the market as part of a national certification system that includes both type and individual certification of road vehicles, including cars, trailers, motorcycles, three-wheeled vehicles, and ATVs. At the same time, market surveillance of automotive parts and equipment will be regulated to ensure that only products meeting technical requirements are admitted to the market.
An important element of the draft is the recognition of certificates issued in the European Union through a simplified procedure, without a repeat technical inspection, for vehicles that already have the relevant documentation.
“For the first time in our country, a modern national vehicle certification system will be introduced. This bill means more modern procedures, greater digitization, and clearer rules for the responsible authorities,” said Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea.
The implementation of the new law will help increase transparency in the automotive market, strengthen quality control over vehicles and spare parts entering the market, and protect citizens from products that could compromise road safety.
The draft law will be submitted to Parliament for consideration and adoption.
