Officials from the Main Directorate for Combating Fraud of the State Tax Service, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS), uncovered a tax evasion scheme involving approximately 3 million lei, organized by a company whose primary business is construction.

Throughout 2025, the Chisinau-based company received cash payments from individuals and other companies but failed to record them in its accounting records and, consequently, reported inaccurate information regarding the company’s actual income on its tax returns.

In connection with this, officials from the State Tax Service and the prosecutor’s office conducted four searches at the offices, residences, and vehicles of the company’s decision-makers.

During the investigative actions, cash in national and foreign currencies, cell phones, computers, accounting documents, drafts, expense reports, etc., were seized.

The investigation is ongoing with the aim of establishing all the circumstances of the case.
