City authorities are informing Chisinau residents that property tax bills for the 2026 tax year have been sent to them via the postal service.
City Hall reminds residents that, as of 2021, the 15% discount for full payment of the tax by June 30 no longer applies.
Those with an electronic or mobile signature can access the State Tax Service portal and view the tax assessed based on their property record. They can also generate a payment notice themselves, verify the amount of the tax liability, and print a hard copy of the document.
Taxes can be paid at post offices, banks, or online through the government’s MPay electronic payment service by selecting the option “Pay real estate tax using a payment notice.”
It is worth noting that real estate tax exemption is granted to individuals of retirement age, but not to all of them. The exemption applies only to owners of real estate in which they are registered.
The exemption amounts to 500,000 lei of the property’s assessed value for tax purposes, provided the property is used as a primary residence.
