In addition, the program provides for support for rural tourism and more effective use of the Republic of Moldova’s cultural, natural, and wine-making potential.
According to official data, in 2025 the country’s tourism sector welcomed more than 600,000 visitors and generated revenues exceeding 5 billion lei, which attests to the growing interest in Moldova’s tourist destinations.
Earlier, the government approved the transfer of tourism oversight to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization. According to Minister Eugen Osmocescu, these new areas will become part of the ministry’s operational activities, in part through the integration of the National Tourism Office.
