This is because the global market for petroleum products has temporarily stalled in the absence of any major news, including from the Persian Gulf.

As a result, the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) has set the following maximum prices for major petroleum products for tomorrow, August 14:

– AI-95 gasoline will drop by 2 bani and cost 29.98 lei;

– diesel fuel will also become cheaper—by 10 bani. Its price will be 31.97 lei.

Maximum retail prices for major standard petroleum products are set by the National Energy Regulatory Agency based on the Methodology for Calculating and Applying Prices for Petroleum Products and are calculated using the following indicators:

PL — the average value of Platts quotations for the 14 days preceding the calculation date;

CV — the official average exchange rate of the national currency against the U.S. dollar for the 14 days preceding the calculation date;

MC — the specific trade markup and additional surcharge set by the CNMC for diesel fuel;

AC — the excise tax rate applicable under the Tax Code for the preceding 14 days;

VAT — the VAT rate applicable in accordance with the Tax Code.
