The EIT Urban Mobility Innovation Hub East is the regional center for Eastern Europe of one of Europe’s most advanced innovation platforms in the field of urban mobility and sustainable transport. The organization brings together government agencies, universities, companies, startups, and investors to develop and implement cutting-edge solutions in the fields of urban mobility, clean energy, and innovative technologies.
Through this partnership, Moldova will gain access to one of the most extensive European innovation networks in the fields of mobility and energy, which will facilitate the exchange of expertise and participation in joint projects with partners from the European Union.
The memorandum establishes a general framework for cooperation in the development and implementation of measures that promote innovation in the energy sector and environmentally friendly transportation. The cooperation includes support for startups, the organization of events and training programs, the promotion of pilot projects, the monitoring of new technologies, and the exchange of best practices at the regional and European levels.
The memorandum also facilitates Moldovan startups’ access to funding opportunities and European markets, the development of pilot projects in the field of electric mobility and charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, as well as participation in European consortia that can attract grants and investments for the Republic of Moldova.
At the same time, the partnership will facilitate the transfer of European expertise to central and local authorities and lay the groundwork for the development of joint initiatives with Romania and Ukraine in the fields of energy and environmentally friendly transport.
