This was reported by CFM.

On June 17, eight containers, each weighing 44 metric tons, were transported by narrow-gauge rail from the Romanian port of Constanța to the Giurgiulești International Free Port. In Giurgiulești, the containers were transferred to standard-gauge flatcars and loaded onto a train for onward transport to Chișinău.

CFM notes that the resumption of container rail transport opens up new business opportunities; in particular, it allows for the transport of large shipments in a single trip, reduces logistics costs, improve delivery predictability, shorten delivery times, and enhance cargo safety.

In addition, shifting part of the freight traffic from roads to rail will help reduce the burden on road infrastructure, cut emissions, and minimize the negative impact of transportation on the environment.

CFM has called on shippers, logistics operators, importers, and exporters to make greater use of rail container transport as an efficient and sustainable logistics tool.
