The mission included a number of meetings with partner organizations and project beneficiaries (MAME 1). Technical and financial aspects of the new package of support for agricultural development and modernization were discussed.
The MAME 2 loan project is expected to have a budget of about MDL 750 million and will double the financial capacity of the Agency for Development and Modernization of Agriculture (ADMA). The financial resources will be used to facilitate farmers’ access to modern agricultural machinery and equipment needed to increase productivity, optimize agricultural works and adapt the sector to modern production requirements, including climate change.
In addition to the financial component, the project will also include technical assistance in important areas of agriculture. Support will cover the development of farmer-to-farmer cooperation, improved soil management, and the development and promotion of the wine sector.
According to the approved schedule, the signing of the loan agreement is scheduled for November 2026 – after the institutional procedures in the Republic of Moldova and Japan are finalized. Financing of the MAME 2 project through ADMA is planned to start in early 2027.
