The farmers’ protest will begin at the entrance to Fălești, near the “Supraten” shopping center and the bus station. “The equipment will be parked on the side of the road to draw attention to the issue of discrimination and the erosion of capital among micro, small, and medium-sized farms,” according to a statement from the Association of Grain and Oilseed Producers “Forța Fermierilor.”
The main demands of the protesting farmers are:
- the provision of direct payments per hectare for grain and oilseed crops, starting in 2027;
- rejection of the increased tax burden on farmers due to the VAT hike to 20% on agricultural products;
- 100% reimbursement of the excise tax on diesel fuel used in agricultural work, starting in 2026.
