The list of such programs is updated regularly, as tax exemptions may be a precondition set by some donors for the disbursement of an advance or the first tranche of grant funds.
Projects are exempt from income tax, excise taxes, customs duties, customs clearance fees, and environmental pollution fees. Goods and services purchased for their implementation will be exempt from VAT with the right to claim a deduction, as provided for in international treaties and contracts signed by Moldova.
These changes also apply to grants provided to the government and budget-funded institutions for the implementation of investment assistance projects. Goods, works, and services imported or purchased using such grants are also exempt from tax and customs duties.
It is noted that the timely provision of these exemptions will help avoid delays in procurement and the import of necessary goods and services.
As Logos Press previously reported, one of these projects is the renovation of a social center in the city of Leova, whose services will be available to approximately 600 people. Another important project is the renovation of the “Dmitri Kantemir” Gymnasium in the Ștefan Voda district.
