According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, this suspension has been implemented in connection with the transition of consular services to the new “Civil Status Documents” information system (IS AGS), which will modernize and improve the efficiency of civil status services provided to Moldovan citizens abroad.

Applications submitted before August 1, 2026, will be processed in accordance with previously established procedures and without restrictions. During this period, individuals with an electronic signature may request civil status records in electronic format via the evo.gov.md platform in accordance with the conditions set forth in current legislation.

Starting September 1, 2026, Moldova’s diplomatic missions and consular offices will resume accepting applications for civil status services, which will be processed using the new information system.
