Alexandr Trubca gave up his seat in the Duma to protect PAS’s reputation

Alexandr Trubca, a member of the “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) party, announced that he was resigning from his seat in response to criticism sparked by his involvement in a real estate project. The former lawmaker claims that the controversy surrounding his business activities “is negatively affecting the image and credibility of the party,” of which he remains a member.

“I can’t do anything else. But everything I’ve said publicly before still stands. The ANI agency will soon complete the investigation I requested myself and issue its verdict. It’s a good sign that, after five years of membership in PAS, we’ve reached the point of discussing the ethics and morality of economic activities by high-ranking officials,” Alexander Trubka wrote on social media.

The decision was made after information surfaced in the public domain regarding the lawmaker’s involvement in a real estate project in the commune of Truseni. Journalists from TV8’s “Cutia Neagră PLUS” program reported that they had been gathering information for several months about the investment project in which the lawmaker was involved. Before the investigation was published, Trubka held a briefing during which he presented his account of the transactions and sources of funding.

According to his explanation, in September 2024, the lawmaker learned of an opportunity to purchase three plots of land for development with a total area of approximately 0.8 hectares. The asking price for the plots would have been around 800,000 euros. To carry out the project, Trubka founded the company QNA-Consulting SRL. The lawmaker stated that he had brought in partners who were to provide the financing, while his company’s share in the project would be 25%.  The lawmaker claimed that he did not manage the company and that the investments had been declared. At the same time, he acknowledged that he was responsible for identifying the investment opportunity, specialists, a partner construction company, and potential buyers.

Questions were raised in the public sphere regarding the source of the funding, his relationships with business partners, and the fact that some of them had made donations to PAS.
