This was reported by the specialized aviation Telegram channel runway09.aviation.

“The regulatory framework in force in the Republic of Moldova stipulates that commercial activities in the field of air transport are permitted only on the basis of an Air Operator Certificate (AOC). After demonstrating compliance with all technical, organizational, and economic requirements established by current legislation, the Civil Aviation Authority will issue an Air Operator Certificate,” stated representatives of the Civil Aviation Authority, commenting on this report.

“The new Moldovan airline is quickly and easily gaining a foothold in the local market, which is going through difficult times. Its name is Polaris, and in the state register of legal entities, it is listed in the category of passenger and cargo air transport. Rumors are circulating in the industry that they will initially operate charter flights using Airbus A321 aircraft,” the channel’s administrators wrote.

Currently, two companies operate in the passenger air transport market in the Republic of Moldova: FlyOne and HiSky. Although HiSky is registered in Romania, it also operates in the Republic of Moldova, and its founders are Moldovan citizens who have long worked in the Moldovan civil aviation industry.

The problem is that Polaris Airlines does not currently exist. It is possible that someone close to the current government (as was previously the case with relatives of Justice Minister Vladimir Cebotari, who is close to Plahotniuc) wants to launch an entirely new airline modeled after FlyOne.
