ANSA inspectors are being trained in European standards for phytosanitary control

The purpose of the training was to enhance the professional skills of ANSA staff responsible for phytosanitary inspections of imported plant products, as well as field inspections of fruit and vegetable crops. The training sessions help standardize inspection methods and bring them into compliance with European and international standards.

Training participants gained an in-depth understanding of how to use international databases (EPPO), improved their skills in conducting documentary inspections at the border, sampling methods for laboratory analysis, inspection of wood packaging, and the implementation of measures in the event of detected violations.

The National Food Safety Agency expresses its gratitude to the GIZ project—the German Agency for International Cooperation—and the EU4Trade/CEFTA project partners for their support in organizing the training sessions, according to an ANSA report.
