Dan Surucanu, Minister of Culture, will serve as chair of the Commission. Its members also include:

– Alexandru Stratan – Rector of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova;
– Otilia Dandara – Rector of the State University of Moldova;
– Eugen Bendelic – Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy;
– Maria Șleahtițchi – Director General of the National Museum of Romanian Literature;
– Vlad Sabajuc – Performer and Composer;
– Teodor Chiriac – President of the Writers’ Union of Moldova;
– Tudor Zbârnea – Director General of the National Museum of Art of Moldova;
– Vitalia Grigoriu – Director General of the “Lučafărul” Republican Theater;
– Virgiliu Mărgineanu – President of the Union of Filmmakers of Moldova;
– Nicolae Ceban – Director of the Sports Training Center for National Teams;
– Valentina Bodrug-Lungu – President of the non-governmental organization “Gender Center.”
The National Prize is awarded annually by the government for outstanding achievements and contributions that promote the country’s development and enhance the image of the Republic of Moldova.
The winners will be announced ahead of Moldova’s Independence Day. They will receive 100,000 lei, a certificate, and a medal. The National Award was established in 2012.
