The initiative was announced at the MIDIA launch event, organized as part of the “Digital Maturity in Innovative Regions” project, developed with the support of the Swiss Government and Helvetas Moldova through the OPTIM project.
Following the integration of MIDIA into BizRadar, more entrepreneurs will be able to assess their companies’ level of digitalization using a standardized methodology. They will more easily identify both strengths and areas needing improvement. Furthermore, businesspeople will receive recommendations on investments and actions needed for digital transformation.
The integration of MIDIA into BizRadar confirms the maturity and applicability of this digital tool and demonstrates the trust placed in it by stakeholders involved in the development of Moldova’s entrepreneurial and digital ecosystem.
The tool can actively contribute to economic development
During the event, participants reiterated the importance of capitalizing on the project’s results and using MIDIA on a large scale.
Cristina Buțuleac, manager for digitalization and access to financing at Helvetas Moldova, praised the collaboration with ACETI and emphasized that MIDIA was designed as a structured tool to support companies on their digital transformation journey. She expressed her hope that the synergy created within the project and the integration of the MIDIA questionnaire into the BizRadar platform will add value and credibility to MIDIA.
For his part, Ion Lupan, head of the Secretariat of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister, noted that the 100% digitization of interactions between authorities and businesses is one of the Economic Council’s key priorities. At the same time, he emphasized that companies must also assess their own level of digital readiness so that they can use available digital services more effectively, strengthen their competitiveness, and be better prepared to access and take advantage of funding and support opportunities.
The importance of MIDIA is further underscored by the fact that it will be used by the EDIH Digital Innovation Hub of Moldova, the first and only European Digital Innovation Hub in the Republic of Moldova, selected by the European Commission in January 2026.
By using MIDIA, entrepreneurs will have access to the services offered by the EDIH, including technological expertise, pre-investment testing of digital solutions, digital skills development programs, and support for identifying available funding opportunities.
ACETI proposes adopting MIDIA as a standardized tool at the national level
Starting in early 2026, the Association for the Development of Electronic Communications and Innovative Technologies (ACETI) submitted a position paper to the Government of the Republic of Moldova proposing the nationwide integration of a standardized tool for assessing the digital intensity of small and medium-sized enterprises.
This initiative comes in the context of implementing the 2023–2030 Digital Transformation Strategy and support programs for entrepreneurs, and aims to increase the effectiveness of public policies, as well as to more precisely target funding and support measures for digital transformation.
The use of a single methodology would allow for a comparable assessment of companies’ level of digitization, the identification of sectors with the greatest need for intervention, and the monitoring of the impact of public and private investments in the field of digitization.

A tool developed in Moldova, protected and validated
ACETI has officially registered the copyright for MIDIA with the State Agency for Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova (AGEPI), and the tool’s name is protected as a registered trademark. Additionally, MIDIA was awarded the Silver Medal at the INFOINVENT 2025 International Specialized Exhibition.
In an economy where competitiveness increasingly depends on the adoption of digital technologies, MIDIA provides companies with the answer to a crucial question: How digitized is my business, really, and what do I need to do to become more competitive?
For the Republic of Moldova, MIDIA can become more than just an assessment tool—it can serve as a national benchmark for measuring progress in digital transformation and for directing investments toward areas where they can generate the greatest economic impact.
The “Digital Maturity in Innovative Regions” project is being implemented with the support of the Swiss Government and Helvetas Moldova, through the OPTIM project.
