This was stated by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the meeting of the Supreme Council of the EAEU in Astana.

As Kazakhstan Today notes, the growth of trade turnover between the countries of the union (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia) this year is expected to be 6%. And the aggregate GDP of the member states, according to forecasts, will grow by 2.5%.

In his speech, the President of Kazakhstan focused on several key areas of cooperation.

In particular, Tokayev emphasized the importance of the joint statement of the EAEU countries on the responsible use of artificial intelligence. He noted that global investments in AI technologies have already exceeded the landmark mark of $1 trillion. It is expected that in the coming decades its cumulative contribution to the global economy will show a multiple growth and cross the milestone of 7 trillion dollars. “Advanced technologies should become and are already becoming a powerful catalyst for Eurasian integration,” the Kazakh leader emphasized.

He also drew attention to the need for further digitalization of the transport and logistics sector. According to him, the length of the Eurasian transport framework exceeds 50 thousand kilometers, and increasing the speed and efficiency of transportation will increase the volume of cargo traffic.

In this regard, Kazakhstan in the test mode launched a system of Smart Cargo, which allows you to draw up documents for the transportation of goods on the principle of “single window”. In addition, the republic has already started testing the exchange of digital transport documents with neighboring countries.
