According to Bloomberg, the company is preparing to launch the Apple Upgrade leasing program, which is scheduled to begin on July 28.

The program will cover most smartphone models, as well as Macs, iPads, and Apple Watches, which will be available on 2- to 3-year leases. The service will operate on a subscription basis, allowing customers to pay off the device early and keep it.

According to the agency’s sources, the financial partner for the program—which will initially launch “at least in the U.S.”—will be Klarna Group, whose stock has already risen 11% on the news. It is also noted that Apple plans to position its new revenue stream as a way to lower payment amounts for consumers.

The program is being launched a few weeks after the company announced significant price increases for a number of its devices—including laptops, tablets, and home devices—due to a shortage of memory chips.

It is not yet known whether this program will be extended to other countries, including Moldova.
