The heir to Mango has stepped down

Jonathan Andik, the son of Mango's founder, has temporarily stepped down as vice president of the company after being implicated in the investigation into the death of his father, billionaire Isak Andik. In a statement to employees, he said he intends to focus on defending his innocence.

“This is the best decision for both the company and me”, Andik emphasized in an open letter.

The investigation is looking into the circumstances surrounding the death of the Mango founder, who died in December 2024 while hiking in the Monserrat mountain range near Barcelona, writes El Pais. According to the materials of the investigation, Isak Andik fell off a hundred-meter cliff during a walk with his son. At the same time, the investigation is considering a version of a possible murder.

Jonathan Andik was detained a week ago and then released on bail of one million euros. His defense is preparing an appeal against the court decision. The businessman himself claims that public opinion is formed on the basis of “taken out of context and distorted” information.

In a letter to employees Andik separately emphasized his attachment to his family and father. According to him, despite difficult periods, love, respect and close ties between them have always remained.

After Isak Andik’s death, Jonathan had already stepped back from the operational management of the Mango Man line, but retained his positions as vice president and member of the company’s board of directors. He is now temporarily stepping down from those positions to focus on the lawsuit.

Mango supported Andik’s decision. CEO Tony Ruiz said management supports Jonathan Andik and remains committed to the long-term strategy of growing the business.

“I meet this process calmly and am convinced that the facts will prove my innocence,” Jonathan Andik said.
