Igor Grosu highlighted the Royal House’s contribution in recent years, stressing its involvement in the organization of events aimed at attracting investors from Romania and other countries to Moldova, as well as at bringing together representatives of the cultural and professional environment from both sides of the Prut River.

Also, the prime minister and Her Majesty Margareta, Guardian of the Romanian Crown, discussed the cooperation agenda for 2026. It was noted that Her Majesty and Prince Radu will continue backing Moldova’s European course in such fields as economic development, education, environmental protection, science and culture.

“We highly appreciate the Romanian Crown’s constant and unconditional efforts in support of Moldova. With such allies, we cannot fail to succeed in the democratic development and modernization of the country,” Igor Grosu said.

“EU integration is the country’s top strategic priority”

During his visit to Bucharest, Igor Grosu took part in the 10th conference on security in the Black Sea and Balkan region. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of unity and regional cooperation for strengthening security in the region against the backdrop of contemporary challenges.

“Security in the Black Sea and the Balkans is determined by our ability to remain united, sober-minded and courageous in the face of threats,” the Parliament Speaker said.

He also said that Moldova “faces daily hybrid attacks from the Russian Federation, including disinformation campaigns, attempts of political corruption, vote-buying and actions aimed at undermining citizens’ trust in state institutions and the country’s future”.

Grosu reiterated that accession to the European Union remains Moldova’s top strategic priority.

“For Moldova, EU integration is a way to strengthen institutions, economy, democracy and the ability to defend freedom. The enlargement of the European Union is an investment in the security of the whole continent, and Moldova is ready not only to benefit from this security, but also to contribute to it,” he emphasized.

“A strong Moldova – a secure region”

Within the visit, Igor Grosu held meetings with Romanian President Nicusor Dan and other officials. They discussed regional security issues, joint infrastructure projects and support for Moldova’s European path.

“Moldova and Romania need each other in Europe, where security, stability and development are closely interconnected. A strong, democratic and European Moldova is a safer region and a more united Europe,” he said.

Igor Grosu also met Romanian Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, thanking him for his consistent support and personal involvement in the development of bilateral relations and promotion of Moldova’s European course.
